Full Notification

On 1/3/25, at approximately 2:38 PM, SVPD Officers responded "Code 3" to 4347 Ish Dr. reference an Unknown Problem involving a female who called 911 and kept saying, "Emergency, please, somebody is coming, knife".  Upon arrival, officers located a 67 year old female victim, with numerous stab wounds to her face, body, and arms.  She was transported to a local hospital with critical, but non fatal injuries.  Witnesses indicated an unknown male subject came to the house, stabbed the victim, and then fled the area.  Officers ultimately located the suspect, Juan Avilez (24 year old Simi Valley resident), hiding in some bushes near the scene.  The subject was uncooperative, but was eventually apprehended by police. Avilez was arrested for Attempt Murder and Assualt with a Deadly Weapon.  Detectives are still investigating the incident and ask that anybody with additional information, please call the Simi Valley Police Department (805) 583-6950.
