As the temperatures drop and night falls, please be aware that roads that have been cleared may have snow drifted back over them as we receive new accumulation and wind blown snow and ice. E State Road 64 is already starting to be covered in drifted snow causing several vehicles to slide off the roadway at this time. Gibson County is currently under a Travel Warning, meaning that all non-essential travel should be postponed until weather and road conditions improve.

If you must drive tonight, give yourself plenty of extra time and drive slower than you normally would. It will take more room to stop under the current conditions, so leave extra room between you and any cars in front of you. In case you would become disabled, ensure that you are traveling with extra water, a warm blanket or sleeping bag, extra clothes, flashlights, and even some emergency snacks.
