Garage B community meeting reminder; Additional Port Authority information sessions on Hoboken PATH terminal closure
REMINDER: Garage B community meeting tomorrow
Residents are invited to attend a virtual community meeting tomorrow, Jan. 7, at 6 p.m. to learn more about the proposed redevelopment plan to revitalize Garage B, located on Second Street between Hudson and River Streets.
To join the public meeting click here: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/89734170894?pwd=bSEa5BRAEMerqKiThW4t1NGsDAsl5X.1. Passcode:432339.
The Department of Community Development will present proposed uses for the 40-year-old municipal parking garage which could transform the property into a transit-oriented, mixed-use site with active ground-floor retail, residential housing, and parking.
The residential portion of the site would include a minimum of 20% affordable housing for low- and moderate-income households. The remaining balance of the residential units would be workforce housing.
The plan also proposes a new modern public parking garage that will maintain or exceed the current number of spaces in the garage and more.
The Hoboken City Council previously authorized the area as a “Non-Condemnation Area in Need of Redevelopment” launching the City’s redevelopment planning process.
