Teens Arrested after Fleeing from Deputies in a Stolen Vehicle

17-year-old Female
SUMMARY: On Monday, January 6, 2025, at 12:18 a.m., Deputy T. Bohannon attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white Toyota Avalon which was reported stolen.
The vehicle failed to yield and led deputies on a pursuit through the town of Apple Valley, failing to yield at controlled intersections, travelling at unsafe speeds, and eventually crashing into two separate property fences near the intersection of Yakima Road and Mohawk Road in Apple Valley. The driver, a 14-year-old male juvenile, and two passengers, a 14-year-old male juvenile and 17-year-old female juvenile, fled from the vehicle on foot. With the assistance of deputies from the Apple Valley Station, all three subjects were detained
The driver of the vehicle was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and evading a peace officer. He was booked into the High Desert Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center. The other two juveniles were arrested for possession of stolen property and released to their guardians. All parents/guardians of the juveniles were cited for parental responsibility and will be required to appear in court.
