Red Flag and High Wind Warning Update
The National Weather Service’s Red Flag and High Wind Warning will remain between the afternoon of Tuesday, January 7 through the afternoon of Wednesday, January 8.
Wind Conditions:
The latest NOAA forecast indicates that the wind event will now impact Duarte more directly, with sustained winds of approximately 40 mph and potential gusts up to 80 mph.
These conditions are expected to peak between Tuesday, January 7 at 12 PM and Wednesday, January 8 at 12 PM.
Power Outages:
Due to the intensity of the winds, power outages may occur. Please be prepared for potential disruptions in service. If you experience a power outage, please report it to Southern California Edison (SCE) at 1-800-611-1911.
Residents are advised to prepare for potential power outages by storing extra ice, ensuring adequate supplies of medications and essentials, charging all necessary electronic and lighting devices, and filling up generators for backup power.
Fallen Tree Branches:
The strong winds may also cause tree branches to fall. If you observe fallen branches or other wind-related debris that need to be addressed, please contact the Community Development Department at (626) 386-6817. Residents are also advised to park vehicles away from trees to minimize risks of damage.
Stay safe, stay alert, and be prepared for changing conditions.
