The National Weather Service issued a forecast for a severe windstorm, comparable to the windstorm from November 2011. Gusts of 50-80 mph are anticipated, with some areas experiencing wind gusts of up to 100 mph.
Fire Chief Bartlett has declared a Red Flag for Sierra Madre and this street parking in all Red Flag designated areas is prohibited. All Red Flag designated streets must keep the streets clear for Public Safety Personnel access.
It is recommended that all residents stay indoors until the storm subsides. However, if you must travel, please exercise extreme caution as there may be downed trees, tree branches, and other potential obstructions. If you see a downed power line, call 9-1-1. DO NOT TOUCH ANY DOWNED POWER LINES.
