Dear Citizens of Sonora,

At the last regular council meeting of the City of Sonora, a request to extend a no parking zone near Sonora Primary School was discussed and approved.  For the safety of our children crossing the crosswalks in this area, the City Council has extended the no parking zone on the south side of the Sonora Primary School.

The newly designated no parking area extends northwest from the parent drive-up pickup exit to the corner of 1st Street and Concho Avenue.  City of Sonora employees are currently painting the curb red to clearly mark this area as a no parking zone.

We kindly ask all citizens to be mindful of this change, as the no parking area will be actively enforced by law enforcement.  Your cooperation will help ensure the safety of our children and the smooth flow of traffic around the school.
