The Thousand Oaks Police Department is proud to announce “Coffee with a Cop” day in conjunction with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Special Crimes Unit / Human Trafficking Task Force. Community opportunities such as this bring deputies and community members together to discuss issues and learn more about resources, services, and needs of the community. Join us Friday, January 17th, from 11:00am to 1:00pm, at Dog Haus, 50 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. #A, Thousand Oaks. Come meet our Chief of Police, Assistant Chief, and members from our Special Crimes Unit / Human Trafficking Task Force. January is Human Trafficking Prevention Month, which is dedicated to raising awareness about the exploitation of millions worldwide. Come learn about recognizing the signs of trafficking, how to support a survivor, and advocating for prevention. Community trust and transparency are some of the key elements to the success of the Thousand Oaks Police Department. By sitting down and having a simple conversation, deputies, and the community members they serve, can continue building and growing together. The Thousand Oaks Police Department invites the community to come out and ask questions, voice concerns, get crime prevention advice, and get to know the officers in your neighborhood. This is a relaxed, informal event and is not about speeches or agendas, but simply about casual conversation. The goal of our community events is to get to know the community better and hear about issues the residents feel is important. |
