Strongest winds from current windstorm are expected to peak tonight, beginning at 7:00 p.m. and last through midday Wednesday 1/8/2025
The National Weather Service is predicting that the strongest gusts in this windstorm are expected to begin around 7:00 pm this evening and last through midday Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
Southern California Edison (SCE) has identified several circuits in the Sierra Madre area that will be shut off for precautionary purposes. These shut-offs may last up to 48 hours in some areas.
The Sierra Madre Police and Fire Departments are asking that residents stay home and keep the streets clear for emergency vehicle access.
Red Flag conditions are still in effect and parking on the following streets is prohibited:
(1) Mount Wilson Trail;
(2) Churchill Road;
(3) Skyland Drive;
(4) Fern Glen;
(5) Fern Drive;
(6) Idle Hour;
(7) Canyon Crest Drive;
(8) Orange Drive;
(9) Woodland Drive;
(10) Brookside Lane;
(11) Sunnyside Lane;
(12) Yucca Trail;
(13) Holly Trail;
(14) Sturtevant; and
(15) Elm.
Sierra Madre Public Works crews will resume clean street clean-up once conditions improve and it is safe to move about the City. To report road damage or obstructions in the public right-of-ways, call Public Works at (626) 264-8914.
