VOLUNTARY EVACUATION - Zones 1 and 16 - areas west of Grove St. and north of Grandview. All other areas north of Grandview are on Warning
Strong winds and heavy brush have fueled a fast-moving Close Fire. The fire has burned over 200 acres and is not contained. The City of Pasadena has ordered evacuation orders for their residents west of Eaton Canyon.
At this time, the City of Sierra Madre is issuing VOLUNTARY EVACUATION orders for ZONE 1 AND ZONE 16 - that covers the areas on the west side of Sierra Madre; North of Grandview Avenue and West of Grove Street.
All other areas north of Grandview are on Evacuation Warning.
Anyone wishing to evacuate should secure their homes and exercise extreme caution as they travel through the windstorm-affected areas.
We will continue to monitor the situation and post updates on Nixle and the City social media pages.
For all emergencies call 9-1-1. For non-emergencies, call the business line at (626) 355-1414.
