Advisory: HIGH WIND IN EFFECT FOR LOS ANGELES COUNTY AND CITY OF MONTEREY PARK
Dear Monterey Park Residents,
The City of Monterey Park is continuing to monitor the windstorm that the National Weather Service has issued a warning for. At this time residents are encouraged to take precautions for their safety.
The greates impact of high winds in our area is projected to occur tonight, Tuesday, January 7th, through tomorrow, Wednesday, January 8th.
Additionally, per the National Weather Service, Monterey Park residents should prepare for the following:
- Scattered power outages, including downed power lines
- Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds
- Large tree limbs may break off and some trees may potentially snap or uproot
- Fences and roadway signs may blow over
- Roads may become obstructed by debris
- Hazardous driving conditions may occur
Local emergency management officials are encouraging residents to sign up for emergency alerts, such as Alert L.A. County Ready LA County | Emergency Notifications.
Monterey Park residents can report any downed trees, power lines, or windstorm-related emergencies in Monterey Park as Follows:
