The Hurst Fire is currently affecting Sylmar, CA (just south of Santa Clarita). The fire is approximately 500 acres and started at the 210/Yarnell Street (per the Angeles National Forest Service) as of 1:41 AM (Wednesday, 1/8/25).

Current Road Closures: 

• WB I-210 AT ROXFORD BLVD ALL LANES ARE CLOSED. THE TRANSITION ROADS FROM NB AND SB I-5 TO EB I-210 ARE ALSO CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
• NB AND SB THE OLD ROAD CLOSED FROM CALGROVE TO SAN FERNANDO ROAD UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
• Check https://www.chp.ca.gov/traffic for the latest road conditions and closures. 

Evacuation ORDERS Issued: 

• LAC-E132-A (Newhall Co / Sylmar Co Weldon Canyon, Sunshine Canyon Landfill, Oak Tree Gun Club)
• LAC-E132-B (Newhall Co / Sylmar Co Weldon Canyon, Sunshine Canyon Landfill, Oak Tree Gun Club)
• LOS-E001

An evacuation order means there’s an immediate threat to your life and you need to leave right now! It’s critical to follow all directions from law enforcement to ensure you and your family evacuate safely.

• SCL-WILDWOOD
• SCL-ETERNAL

An evacuation warning means there’s impending danger to your life or property. If a warning is given assume an evacuation order will follow. Start gathering important items for your family and pets. Any individuals who need extra time to evacuate, or anyone with large animals, should pack-up and leave when a warning is issued.
