Protect Your Pipes from Freezing
It's cold out there and with the cold weather comes the need to protect your water pipes from freezing and causing damage to your home.
Residents are reminded to secure their water lines from the elements by keeping the house warm enough (minimum 50 degrees) to avoid frozen pipes, particularly in uninsulated areas. If you have not done so already, please be sure to shut off water to any outdoor faucets, disconnecting any hoses and draining hose bibs. Vacant houses should be inspected regularly.
Failure to take these precautions can lead to expensive property damage, including broken water meters, leaking water pipes, and flooding. For more information, check out these tips from Middlesex Water Company.
Stay warm!
