Wilmington Police have arrested two men on drug charges.
On January 7, at approximately 2:56 p.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were in the area of West 8th and North Monroe Streets when they observed two male subjects engaged in drug related activity. Police took 34-year-old Hakeem Hunter into custody without incident, and attempted to make contact with 24-year-old Shamar Foster, who fled on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, Foster was taken into custody without further incident. Police recovered 17.3 grams of crack cocaine, and .15 grams of heroin.
Hunter has been charged with the following offense:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further proceedings.
Foster has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 2 Quantity
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Resisting Arrest
