Eaton Fire Update – January 10, 2025 
The Eaton Fire continues to challenge firefighting efforts, but significant improvements in containment have reduced the threat level to Duarte and surrounding areas. Residents are urged to remain vigilant, utilize city-provided resources, and monitor official updates for any changes in the situation.
Evacuation Warnings remain for the following zones:
- DUA-001, DUA-002, DUA-005, and DUA-008.

Threat Level and Evacuations:
- Threat Level to Duarte: Moderate to low, with improving conditions.
- Possibility of Evacuations: Low.
- Area of Greatest Concern: Homes above Royal Oaks, between Mt. Olive and Encanto Parkway.
- Evacuation Warning Update: The area above Royal Oaks, between Mt. Olive and Tocino, remains under an evacuation warning. However, ongoing improvements may lead to the lifting of the warning in 24-48 hours, if firefighting efforts continue to make progress.
Conditions may change at any moment. As long as the warning is in place, residents should be prepared for evacuations.

Weather Conditions:
- Red Flag Warning: In effect until 6 PM on Friday, January 10.
- High Wind Warning: In effect until 2 PM on Friday, January 10.
- Winds:
- Morning: 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph; ridgetops up to 45 mph.
- Afternoon: Winds will subside to 6-15 mph.
- Evening/Overnight: Winds increasing to 10-15 mph after midnight.
- Humidity: Widespread levels of 10-20%.
City Services and Support:
- Trash Service & Street Sweeping: Resumed today, January 10, but no street sweeping violations will be enforced.
- School Closures: Duarte Unified School District will remain closed on Friday, January 10, 2025. School will resume Monday, January 13, 2025.
- Evacuation Site at the Community Center (1600 Huntington Drive): Open today from 8 AM to 8 PM.
- Duarte Fitness Center Showers (1600 Huntington Drive): Available from 11 AM – 2 PM today. Free for residents with valid ID. Reservations required at 626-357-6118.
- 40-Yard Trash Bins: Located in the Duarte Civic Center parking lot at Pops Road and Huntington Drive. Residents must avoid placing trash and debris on the street. If your trash cans are full, you are encouraged to take debris directly to the bin site.
Electricity Update:
- Power Restored: 85% of Duarte restored. Additional restoration expected through tonight and the weekend.
- SCE Statement: Service restoration efforts are ongoing, but due to fire and wind damage, some outages may extend into next week.
