On 1/10/2025, (S) Uriel Gamboa was arrested for violation of PC 187(a) - Murder. On 01/06/2025, at approximately 10:47 p.m., Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call from Gamboa, who stated he had just killed his girlfriend inside of their hotel room and he was feeling suicidal. Deputies from the Thousand Oaks Police station responded to the Palm Garden Hotel. Upon arrival, deputies contacted Gamboa and made entry into the hotel room. Deputies located a deceased adult female, identified as (V) Aliya Pitts, inside the hotel room. Gamboa was transported to a local area hospital, where he was admitted for medical treatment. Ventura County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrived at the scene and assumed the subsequent investigation. The investigation revealed that Gamboa and Pitts were in a dating relationship.
