Multiple Drug Charges for Marion Man
Detective David Jones with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Community Impact Team charged 36-year-old Paul Leon Clark, Jr., of Marion with felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance; felony Possession of Methamphetamine; and felony Maintaining a Vehicle, Dwelling or Place for Controlled Substance. He was issued a secured bond for $50,000.
On Thursday, October 17, 2024, Detective Jones initiated a traffic stop on a maroon truck driven by Clark, for a limited expired tag. A subsequent search of Clark and the vehicle turned up suspected amounts of methamphetamine, multiple gallon-size bags with a white residue and drug paraphernalia.
Clark was not charged at that time pending further investigation and drug analysis results from the State Crime Lab.
A warrant for his arrest was issued and he was taken into custody on November 19, 2024.
