Arrest Made in December 2024 Homicide Case
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) has arrested a 15-year-old juvenile in connection with the homicide of Ponciano “Chano” Tule Bernal, which occurred on December 26, 2024, in the 1100 block of Foothill Boulevard.
The Alameda County District Attorney's Office has filed charges against the juvenile for their involvement in the crime.
Background:
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating a shooting that occurred on December 26, 2024, in the 1100 block of Foothill Boulevard, just before 4:15 PM. Officers responded to the area to investigate a ShotSpotter activation. When officers arrived, they located a victim who sustained a gunshot wound(s). Paramedic personnel responded to the scene to assist, but unfortunately, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
