REMINDER: Community meeting on 38 Jackson Street project tonight

Tonight, Jan. 14, at 7 p.m. the developer team will host a community meeting at Connors Elementary School, 201 Monroe St., to present proposed changes to the 38 Jackson Street Redevelopment Agreement. Changes include new proposed school space and a grocery store on the ground floor. 

The Southwest Hoboken Redevelopment Plan, initially adopted in May 2017, serves as the framework for this project which is currently under construction. The redevelopment agreement between the City of Hoboken and 38 Jackson, LLC was executed in January 2022, with initial Planning Board approval granted in September 2022. An amended site plan approval was subsequently granted by the Planning Board in May 2023. 

REMINDER: Register for baseball & softball! 
 
Hoboken Little League Baseball registration will open tomorrow, Jan. 15, at 10 a.m., and it will conclude on Monday, Feb. 10, at midnight. Hoboken RBI Softball registration will open on Thursday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. and will it conclude on Friday, Feb. 28, at midnight.

The youth recreation programs, made available through partnerships between Hoboken Little League, Hoboken RBI Softball, and the City's Division of Recreation, aim to provide both fundamentals for new players and competitive comradery for seasoned athletes.

Hoboken Little League provides programs for 7 to 16-year-old players, and Hoboken RBI Softball provides programs for 5 to 18-year-old players.

Fees will be waived for those who qualify for free or reduced lunch. 

The City will also open registration for T-ball for 6-year-old kindergarten age players, Instructional Diamond Sports for 4- and 5-year-old players, and Instructional Softball for 3- and 4-year-old players on Monday, Feb. 24, at 5 p.m. Registration is first-come, first-served. Space is limited.
