INCIDENT: PC 261(A)(2) – Rape by Force or Fear
LOCATION: Old Town area of Victorville
SUSPECT(S): James Aaron Crawford, 40-year-old Resident of Apple Valley
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, James Crawford was arrested as the suspect in the investigation of a rape by force which occurred during the previous evening in the area of Old Town Victorville. Crawford was suspected of offering a ride to a transient victim, then pulling over in a remote area during the drive and forcibly raping the victim. At the time, Crawford was believed to have driven a light blue Chrysler Town & Country minivan.
It is believed Crawford may have victimized additional people after offering them rides. Investigators are releasing a photo of Crawford and seeking contact with any potential additional victims.
