Alert

Overnight thefts from unlocked cars have occurred. Please ensure your vehicles are secured nightly. SEE EMAIL MESSAGE FROM THE SPD

The Stratford Police Department in cooperation with several Camden County Police Departments are investigating a rash of thefts occurring from unlocked vehicles. Countywide, this crime wave has been occurring between 12:00am and 3:00am. The current ring of criminals consists of teams of runners, and get-away drivers. The suspects are young, and appear to be between the ages of 15 and 21 years old. Their modus-operandi involve runners searching for unlocked vehicles while being shadowed by get-away drivers. The suspects are operating freshly stolen cars. In a recent local case, the drivers have fled from police at dangerous rates of speed. We have reason to believe the suspects are using different stolen get-away vehicles each night. Residents are reminded to keep your car doors locked and never leave keys in the car. None of these thefts have been from locked vehicles.

Be alert to any suspicious person or vehicles prowling the streets. We ask that you call 911 if you see anything out of the ordinary.
Any resident who may have home video footage that may be of interest to police, may send the footage to: TIPS@STRATFORDPD.ORG
