On 01-14-2025 at approximately 10:30am, employees of the Bannock County Veterans Building were working on maintenance inside the building. Employees located a piece of artillery in a closet and closed the building. Officers from the Pocatello Police Department and a police K9 secured the area and requested the bomb squad from Mountain Home respond to make the piece of artillery inert. The team from Mountain Home is expected to be in Pocatello around 4:00pm. Once the device is rendered safe, the area around the Veterans Building will be open. For the time being, please stay out of the area around the Veterans Building.
