The City of Sonora is currently working with Utility Service Company to conduct extensive maintenance on the Thompson Hill Elevated Water Storage Tank, located on the hill in the northeast part of Sonora.

This important rehabilitation project has begun, and the tank will be taken offline for the duration of the maintenance period. To ensure uninterrupted water service, City of Sonora employees have set up a system to maintain adequate water pressure for citizens in the affected area.

This maintenance and rehabilitation work is critical to extending the service life of the Thompson Hill Water Storage Tank by approximately 20 years. This is the first time the tank has undergone this level of maintenance, and we ask for your patience and understanding as we complete this project to restore the tank to near-original condition and improve its ability to serve our community.
