At approximately 2:45 AM in the morning on January 11, 2025, several suspects smashed the front door of a Camarillo business, making entry inside and stealing multiple lottery tickets, cigarette packs, lighters, and miscellaneous food products before fleeing the scene. The burglary was not reported to the Camarillo Police Department until several hours later when store employees arrived to open for the day. At approximately 4:20 AM, and prior to the Camarillo burglary being reported to the Camarillo Police Department, the Burbank Police Department conducted a traffic stop of a gray pickup truck. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as (S1) Cristian Uscanga, (S2) Sean Green, and (S3) Jahiro Benitez. All suspects were arrested for various charges by the Burbank Police Department, including possession of burglary tools and possession of stolen property. After the crime was reported to the Camarillo Police Department at approximately 8:30 AM, Ventura County Sheriff’s Dispatch Advanced Real Time Information Center (ARTIC) reviewed video surveillance from the burglary and identified a possible burglary suspect vehicle as a gray pickup. Through more investigation, the ARTIC dispatcher discovered that the Burbank Police Department arrested the occupants of the pickup involved in the burglary, and the dispatcher provided that information to Camarillo Police Department patrol deputies who were still investigating the burglary. Patrol deputies and Camarillo station detectives coordinated with the Burbank Police Department and determined the occupants and vehicle matched the description of the suspects from the Camarillo commercial burglary. A search of the suspect vehicle during the traffic stop by the Burbank Police Officers resulted in locating the stolen items from the Camarillo commercial burglary. On 01/13/2025, Camarillo station detectives authored arrest warrants that were granted by the Ventura County Superior Court for the above listed 3 suspects for PC 459-Burglary. All suspects posted bail in the amount of $30,000. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office encourages business owners to deter would be criminals by installing alarms, cameras, and lights at their businesses.
