Rohnert Park pursuit ends in San Rafael after vehicle crashes.

On Monday, January 13, 2025, at approximately 1:14 p.m., a Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety officer in full patrol uniform attempted to stop a silver Chevrolet Equinox for a traffic violation in a Rohnert Park neighborhood. The officer activated his emergency lights, and the driver made a turn onto a nearby street, committing an additional traffic violation. The driver stopped and began complying with the officer's verbal commands. As the officer approached the vehicle, the driver reversed the car and nearly struck two other uniformed officers near their patrol vehicles. The driver then fled the scene.

Officers at the scene broadcasted a warning to other units that the driver had attempted to hit them. After a brief chase, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety terminated the pursuit due to the driver’s erratic driving behavior and reckless actions of driving against traffic travelling in the opposite direction.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) later located the suspect vehicle traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 101. CHP officers pursued the driver into Marin County, where the pursuit ended when the driver crashed in San Rafael. The driver, identified as Casey Joseph Beck, was arrested for evading a peace officer with disregard for safety, assault with a deadly weapon (non-firearm) on a peace officer, and an outstanding felony warrant.

Fortunately, no law enforcement officers or members of the public were injured during this incident. The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety thanks the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, the California Highway Patrol, and the San Rafael Police Department for their assistance.
