Student Crime Stoppers of Amarillo- 2024 year end review

Through the proactive efforts of our students, community and our law enforcement partners, Student Crime Stoppers had one of its best years on record. A total of 1162 tips were received through the program from the nine school districts it represents (Amarillo ISD, Canyon ISD, Bushland ISD, River Road ISD, Highland Park ISD, Panhandle ISD, Groom ISD, White Deer ISD, Claude ISD) in 2024. The tips received for 2024 lead to 36 arrests542 cases cleared2 weapons recovered171 underage tobacco possessions66 possession of drugs, 20 possession of alcohol by minor, and several tips made involving threats against the safety of our schools, 209 violations of school rules.  Overall, the program was able to remove a total of $11,968 worth of drugs and other dangerous substances from the hands of our youth paying out over $13,000 dollars.  Our success is a direct result of our students, school staff, community and law enforcement partners and their continued efforts in keeping our community and schools safe. Student Crime Stoppers would like to extend its gratitude to the community for its continued support.
