Suspect Arrested after Stolen Vehicle Found Near His Home in San Bernardino

SUSPECT(S): FREDERICK NEELY, 44-YEAR-OLD RESIDENT OF SAN BERNARDINO
VICTIM(S): CONFIDENTIAL
SUMMARY: On Monday, January 6, 2025, at approximately 4:30 AM, an unlocked 2020 Jeep Cherokee was stolen from a residence in the 3900 block of Obsidian Road in the Rosena Ranch community. Detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Fontana Station began investigating.
Detectives learned the victim's credit cards, which were left in the vehicle, had been used at several businesses in the city of San Bernardino. Detectives recovered video surveillance and identified Frederick Neely as the suspect using the victim's credit cards. Detectives were also able to locate and recover the victim's stolen Jeep Cherokee near Neely's residence in San Bernardino.
On Thursday, January 9, 2025, detectives served a search warrant at Neely's residence, where additional stolen property was located, and obtained an arrest warrant for Neely for PC 182(a)(1) Conspiracy and CVC 10851 Grand Theft Auto.
On Friday, January 10, 2025, Neely was arrested in Riverside County and has since been transferred to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's custody at West Valley Detention Center. Residents are reminded to lock their cars and secure their keys when vehicles are not being operated.
