Multiple Charges for Convicted Felon
Deputy Robert Watson with McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 52-year-old Michael Dwayne English of Marion with felony Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, felony Possession of Methamphetamine and felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver Methamphetamine. He received a secured bond of $15,000.
On January 6th, Deputy Watson initiated a traffic stop on a red Dodge truck near Ashworth and Grants Mountain roads.
Three occupants, including English, exited the vehicle, while a K-9 sniff and search were conducted.
English, who is already a convicted felon, was found to be in possession of a firearm, a suspected amount of meth and drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody and transported to the McDowell County Detention Facility.
Marion Police Department assisted with the incident.
