City of Newark Extends Code Blue to January 24th 
The City of Newark is extending “Code Blue” for the City of Newark from 8 p.m. tonight, Friday, January 17, to 9 a.m., Friday, January 24. During this period, temperatures are expected to drop to a low of 6°F with a chance of snow.
A “Code Blue” is a Cold Weather Health Warning that is usually called when temperatures drop to 32°F or when there is a wind chill factor of 0°. Residents are reminded to continue being cautious during extreme cold weather.
