Residents Asked to Observe No Parking on Snow-Covered Roadways
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. reports that snow tomorrow may produce flooding in certain areas.
Snow is predicted to begin before 1 p.m., followed by a wintry mix of rain and snow, with snow accumulations of 3” to 5” possible. New snow accumulations on Sunday night may be 1” to 3”.
Residents are asked to observe the city’s “No Parking on Snow Covered Roads” regulations due to the expected snowfall. Signs have been posted on streets throughout the City of Newark. Motorists are urged to look for the sign pictured below to identify the streets designated for no parking.
The Department of Public Safety is coordinating responses to burglar alarms, flooding conditions, and other weather-related incidents through the combined use of Police, Fire, and Office of Emergency Management personnel. Special attention should be given to unsecured outdoor furniture, awnings, refuse, and building materials. For fire safety, please utilize flashlights instead of candles should you lose electricity due to this weather event. #newarknj #publicsafety #police #community #partnership #newjersey #cops #traffic #snow
