Snow Expected Sunday Afternoon
WEATHER ALERT
Winter Storm Arrives Sunday... Attention turns to the Sunday storm. The forecast remains similar to yesterday, though the low pressure is likely to track a little closer to the coast, which limits the higher-end potential and increases the chance for mixing. Thus, we're keeping the 2.5 - 5.0" forecast, but in general the 4.0 - 5.0" part has a lower chance to occur. Overall, this will begin midday and likely be intervals of snow/mix into the afternoon. The peak of the snow will be the late day - evening when the bulk of the accumulation will occur. Snow will trend from wetter (with mixing) to fluffier. Post-storm temps sharply fall leading to a quick hard freeze-up of anything not cleared. Additionally, gusty winds could lead to minor blowing/drifting.DRIVING CONDITIONS: The storm will arrive late morning and impact the afternoon driving. Late Sunday evening and night conditions may become hazardous with icy conditions.
