Winter Weather Advisory in effect for tomorrow, Sunday, January 19, 3 to 5 inches of snow expected
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the area from 10 a.m. tomorrow, Sunday, January 19 to 1 a.m. on Monday. 3 to 5 inches of snow is expected.
Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
Temperatures are expected to fall into the teens Sunday night and remain below freezing for several days. As a result, icy and slippery conditions may persist even after precipitation has ended.
Dangerously cold conditions will follow, with the coldest period from Monday night through Thursday morning. High temperatures will be mainly in the teens, with lows in the single digits.
In anticipation of the upcoming snow event, the North Brunswick Department of Public Works advises residents who live on snow emergency streets to park their cars on their driveways if possible. This will allow our snow plows to effectively clean the streets during the event.
For a list of snow emergency streets, please visit the following link: https://northbrunswicknj.gov/resource_library/snow-emergency-streets/
In addition to snow emergency streets, we would advise all residents to move their vehicles off the streets and onto their driveways.
DPW would also like to advise residents NOT to shovel the snow back on to the street.
We appreciate your cooperation.
