Bitterly cold temperatures are expected through at least Thursday with an arctic airmass now in place. 
The Cold Weather Advisory has been upgraded to an Extreme Cold Warning for the southern Poconos (Carbon and Monroe Counties, Pennsylvania) now going through noon Wednesday. The advisory remains in effect for the rest of the region.
Locations affected: Entire area.
Timing: Coldest temperatures will be tonight through Wednesday Night, with temperatures remaining below freezing through at least Thursday Night.
Impacts: Impacts to infrastructure such as frozen pipes and increased load on the energy grid are possible. Hypothermia and frostbite possible if precautions are not taken. For marine interests, ice cover on area waterways are expected. Periods of freezing spray on open waters could damage maritime equipment.
