INCIDENT: Vehicle Pursuit, Possession of Burglary Tools
LOCATION: 15000 block of Whittram Avenue, unincorporated Fontana
Etiwanda Avenue / Napa Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga
SUSPECT: Ray Belloso, a 50-year-old resident of Riverside
Hugo Dorantes, a 50-year-old resident of El Monte
SUMMARY: On Sunday, January 19, 2025, at about 2:39 P.M., Fontana Station deputies responded to an audible commercial alarm from a business in the 15000 block of Whittram Avenue, unincorporated Fontana. Upon arrival, a deputy observed a vehicle leaving the area near the business and attempted a traffic stop. The driver, later found to be Ray Belloso, a 50-year-old resident of Riverside, failed to yield, drove away at high speed, went the wrong direction on the roadway, and drove through red lights.
The deputy briefly lost sight of the vehicle. At about the same time, a deputy from the Rancho Cucamonga Station was in the same area, observed the vehicle was disabled after striking a curb. Belloso and his passenger, Hugo Dorantes, a 50-year-old resident of El Monte, were arrested without incident. Items commonly used to commit burglary were found inside the vehicle. Belloso was booked into West Valley Detention Center for felony evading and possessing burglary tools. He was held on bail, which he later posted, and was released from custody. Dorantes was booked into West Valley Detention Center for possessing burglary tools and was later released with a written promise to appear. It was later discovered the original business, where the alarm was activated, was not burglarized.
