McDowell County 911 received a report of a possible active shooter at McDowell High School. Emergency personnel remain on scene, and law enforcement has completed a primary search of the building. No victims have been located, no shots have been heard, and there is no confirmed threat at this time.

Sheriff Ricky Buchanan and McDowell County School Superintendent Tracy Grit are on scene leading the response, supported by emergency chiefs from multiple agencies.
