Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Theft Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. seeks the public’s help in identifying the suspect pictured below, who stole a victim’s dog on January 18, 2025.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., the victim let her Shih Tzu poodle mix out to roam in the front yard of her home in the 100 block of Norfolk Street. When the dog did not return, surveillance video captured the suspect taking the animal and walking south on Norfolk Street. The suspect was wearing a black coat, black pants, and a black hat.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are confidential and could result in a reward.
