Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted man on gun and drug charges.
On January 16, at approximately 10:41 a.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force were in the 700 block of North Clayton Street when they observed a wanted male subject. Police made contact with 35-year-old Nahreem Qaadir-Bey, who was taken into custody without incident. Qaadir-Bey was found to be in possession of a loaded .45 caliber handgun, and .9 grams of heroin.
Qaadir-Bey has been charged with the following offenses in addition to his outstanding warrant:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $15,200 cash-only bail.
