Arrests Made in Gang-Related Stabbing
Arrests Made in Gang-Related Stabbing 
During the early morning hours of April 28, 2024, a stabbing occurred at Frontier Park located at 2163 Elizondo Ave. within the City of Simi Valley. Officers quickly responded to the scene and found a seriously injured juvenile who had multiple stab wounds. The juvenile who survived the attack was taken to Los Robles Regional Medical Center for treatment. This matter was quickly deemed to be gang-related and involved members of a local criminal street gang.
The Simi Valley Police Department’s Major Crimes Bureau including the Department’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit took the lead in this investigation and teamed up with the Special Enforcement Team (SET) to help identify the suspects who were responsible for this crime. During the ensuing months, interviews were conducted, several search warrants were issued, and additional evidence was processed. On January 9th and 10th, four suspects who were responsible for this crime were arrested and charged with felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon, felony Conspiracy, and Participation in a Criminal Street Gang. The suspects, who are juveniles and residents of Simi Valley, currently remain in custody at the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Center.
The Simi Valley Police Department’s Major Crime Bureau, which is overseen by the Department’s Detective Bureau is responsible for conducting follow-up in all felony cases of serious nature. The SET team is an entity within the Special Enforcement Bureau and was established as a crime suppression unit meant to address various crimes within the City. Those duties include the enforcement of lewd/dissolute conduct in public, Human Trafficking enforcement, ABC (Alcohol Beverage Control) enforcement investigations and assessment, the enforcement of street-level narcotics, warrant service on wanted individuals, and gang enforcement.
