Convicted Felon Returns to Restaurant to Retrieve Firearm He Left Behind and is Arrested by Deputies

INCIDENT: P.C. 29800(A)(1)- Felon in Possession of a Firearm, P.C. 148(A)(1)- Obstruction of a Peace Officer
LOCATION: 11600 Amargosa Road, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Harutyun Artak Karapetian, 26-year-old Resident of North Hollywood
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at approximately 10:32 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Sheriff’s station responded to BJ’s restaurant for reports of a handgun found by an employee.
Upon arrival, deputies attempted to contact a male who went to the restaurant to retrieve the handgun from employees. The male, later identified as Harutyun Artak Karapetian, disobeyed lawful commands given by deputies and ran from the location. Karapetian was located in the area and detained. A records check of the firearm revealed it was unregistered.
Harutyun Artak Karapetian was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, for P.C. 29800(A)(1)- Felon in Possession of a Firearm, P.C. 148(A)(1)- Obstruction of a Peace Officer, and an outstanding felony warrant out of Los Angeles County for Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
