Fentanyl Found on Elk Park Woman
Detective Matt Smith with McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Community Impact Team charged 30-year-old Shelby Lynn McKinney of Elk Park with felony Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance. She was given no bond due to being out on pretrial release.
On Wednesday, January 15, detectives assisted probation officers in serving a warrant to McKinney for failure to appear in court. While placing her in custody, McKinney was found to be in possession of fentanyl. She was transported to the McDowell County Detention Center.
