Wilmington Police arrest male juvenile in connection to December 2024 shooting incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested a male juvenile in connection to a December 2024 shooting incident following an investigation.
On December 28, 2024, at approximately 12:45 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1100 block of Davis Street in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, police located a 28-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The case was assigned to Detective Kevin Nolan of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Nolan identified a 16-year-old male juvenile as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. On January 22, police responded to the 100 block of Salem Church Road and took the 16-year-old male juvenile into custody without incident.
The 16-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses:
- Assault (First Degree)
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
