Gloucester Township Police Media Release- House Fire Displaces Family on Laurel Place at Cherrywood Townhomes
On Thursday, January 23rd, at approximately 1:27pm, Gloucester Township Police Officers were dispatched to 220 Laurel Place in the Cherrywood section of Gloucester Township in response to an active house fire. Arriving units observed heavy smoke from the second floor in the rear of the home, and all residents were safely evacuated.
Fire Departments from Gloucester Township Squad 88, Blackwood, Erial, Lambs Terrace, Pine Hill, and Runnemede responded and quickly brought the fire under control. Assistance was provided by Inspira EMS and the Gloucester Twp Office of Emergency Management.
No injuries were reported. Six residents were displaced and are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
Although the fire does not appear suspicious, it is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal from the Blackwood Fire Department.
