Threats Towards School Investigated
In the early morning of January 23, 2025, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (RPDPS) received information regarding possible school violence at Technology Middle School. The information came from two anonymous tips submitted through the Cotati Rohnert Park Unified School District’s (CRPUSD) STOPit application. The STOPit application is a format in which students have the ability to anonymously report unsafe behavior.
RPDPS Detectives were able to identify and contact the involved students prior to the commencement of their first classes of the day. The investigation did not reveal any evidence or corroboration of plans or threats of violence to be carried out at the school.
Although these anonymous tips did not result in the discovery of any criminal violations or planned acts of violence, RPDPS and CRPUSD encourage students to continue using the STOPit application to report any unsafe or suspicious behavior.
RPDPS thanks CRPUSD for their partnership and assistance in ensuring the safety of our school campuses.
RPDPS asks that if you have any further information regarding this incident, please contact Sergeant Justin Wax at (707) 588-3545.
