Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash Investigation & Separate Crash Involving Crossing Guard
Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash – Route 1 South:
At approximately 2:25 AM this morning, a 24-year-old female from Trenton was driving on Route 1 South near the intersection of New Road when she struck the rear of a tractor-trailer. Witnesses from a nearby Taco Bell observed the crash and attempted to render aid. A third vehicle, also traveling south on Route 1, then struck the rear of the female’s vehicle. The tractor-trailer involved in the crash left the scene, and the incident remains under active investigation. The female victim was transported from the scene and later pronounced deceased at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

Crossing Guard Incident – Cambridge & Nassau:
At approximately 8:56 AM, a school crossing guard was struck by a vehicle while assisting pedestrians at the intersection of Cambridge Road and Nassau Road. Fortunately, the crossing guard was not injured but was evaluated by EMS as a precaution.
