DETAILS: On January 23rd and 24th, the Amarillo Police Department’s Neighborhood Police Unit, in collaboration with the Gang Intelligence Unit, SWAT, and PACE officers, successfully executed three separate search warrants focused on known or suspected gang members. These operations resulted in the seizure of multiple firearms, ammunition, and firearm accessories, as well as the arrest of a wanted gang member.
These enforcement actions are part of the Amarillo Police Department’s ongoing investigations into violent criminal street gang activities within our community. The successful execution of these search warrants highlights the unwavering commitment of the Neighborhood Police Unit and the Amarillo Police Department to combat violent crime and enhance public safety.
By removing dangerous individuals and illegal weapons from our neighborhoods, the department reaffirms its dedication to making Amarillo a safe place to live, work, and play.
