The Yates County Sheriff's Office has received several reports stating that an indiviual is calling citizens posing as a deputy from the Yates County Sheriff's Office. They are using some type of phone application to change the number. There is no number on the caller ID, it shows up as Yates County Sheriff. The individual is telling citizens that there is a warrant for their arrest. Understand that if someone is threatening to have you arrested if you do not pay money or click a link, it is a scam.
