Southwest wind gusts will continue to increase through the afternoon to 20 to 30 mph with frequent gusts up to 40 mph before gradually diminishing this evening. Combine the strong winds with a drier air mass with expected RHs down to between 25 to 30 percent and dry fuels present, there is an elevated risk for grass and brush fire spread today. Avoid any unnecessary burning or activities with an open flame today, and take care when discarding smoking materials.
