2024 Organized Retail Theft Task Force (ORTTF) Deployment Results

San Mateo, CA – The Daly City, San Bruno, and San Mateo Police Departments are proud to share the latest results from the Organized Retail Theft Task Force (ORTTF), a collaborative effort supported by a multi-million-dollar grant awarded by the California Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC).

Since its inception in November 2023, the ORTTF has achieved significant results in combating organized retail crime in our communities. The task force has recorded 229 arrests, taken 199 cases, and recovered over $90,000 in stolen items.

For 2024 alone, the task force contributed to 189 arrests, 163 cases, and the recovery of over $80,000 worth of items during deployments.
These results reflect the impact of a focused, multi-agency effort. The collaboration between the Daly City, San Bruno, and San Mateo Police Departments ensures targeted strategies and coordinated actions to address organized retail crime within our jurisdictions. This effort is further strengthened by working closely with the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office, ensuring a unified approach to investigations and prosecutions.
