SUMMARY: On January 18, 2025, deputies from the Fontana Sheriff's Station investigated several vehicle burglaries in the Lytle Creek area. The suspect used the victim's credit cards to make fraudulent purchases at several Rialto and San Bernardino businesses. Fontana Sheriff's Station detectives obtained surveillance video of the suspects and identified the suspect vehicle as a U-haul van.
On January 21, 2025, the Fontana Police Department stopped the U-haul van and arrested three people for mail theft. Detectives determined those suspects were not responsible for the vehicle burglaries.
As the investigation continued, Fontana Sheriff's Station detectives identified the suspect as Marc Sanchez and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
On January 28, 2025, detectives located and arrested Sanchez in the city of San Bernardino. At the time of his arrest, Sanchez was in possession of two stolen vehicles and a large amount of stolen property from additional recent vehicle burglaries. Detectives booked Sanchez into the Central Detention Center, where he is being held without bail. Detectives believe there are additional victims, and photos of the suspect and suspect vehicle are being released. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Fontana Sheriff's Station at 909-356-6767.
