Media Release - Beverly Hills Police Department Arrests Suspects Connected to Residential Burglary Series Throughout State
Beverly Hills, Calif. – On Thursday, January 16, 2025, Beverly Hills Police Detectives arrested three suspects believed to be responsible for several recent residential burglaries in Beverly Hills and the surrounding area. The suspects were taken into custody after being served search warrants at their residences in the City of Los Angeles. The search warrants were served in a coordinated multi-agency operation involving Detectives from the Glendale Police Department, who took an additional suspect into custody.
During the service of the search warrants, BHPD Detectives seized stolen property connected to the burglaries, including stolen firearms, jewelry, watches, luxury handbags, designer clothing, and other luxury items belonging to the victims. Additionally, detectives seized evidence connecting the suspects to the crimes, including clothing, cell phones, and signal jammers.
Detectives have linked this criminal ring to several residential burglaries across California, including Beverly Hills, Glendale, San Marino, Los Angeles, Burbank, Pleasanton, Bakersfield, Ventura County, Orange County, and San Mateo County. Detectives are actively following up on leads and other crimes the suspects may have been involved in.
Arrested/Charged:
1. Joaquin Vergara-Contreras, a 29-year-old male charged with four counts of 459 PC – Residential Burglary.
2. Juan Antonio Silva Loaeza, a 43-year-old male charged with two counts of 459 PC – Residential Burglary.
3. Elias Moncada Reyes, a 30-year-old male arrested for 459 PC – Residential Burglary and an outstanding residential burglary warrant out of Pasadena.
4. Leidy Dayana Manrique, a 30-year-old female currently in custody in Ventura County on related charges, was Charged with one count of 459 PC – Residential Burglary and two counts of 496 PC – Receiving Stolen Property.
5. Matias Jesus Soto-Barraza, a 22-year-old male, was taken into custody during the joint operation by the Glendale Police Department.
